Chace Bolosan, a Baldwin High School graduate, finished fifth in the men’s bodybuilding welterweight division at the NPC USA Bodybuilding Championships, held Friday and Saturday in Phoenix.
The event drew more than 500 athletes who competed and is a professional qualifier.
Bolosan led a team called Bolobuilt Fitness — he is the CEO and coach for the team.
Fellow Mauians Eddie Viloria, 33, and Aldin Sabas also competed for Bolobuilt Fitness. Viloria finished 14th in men’s physique class A, while Sabas, 28, finished 16th in men’s physique class C.

“It was an amazing experience to represent Maui and Hawaii at one of the biggest bodybuilding shows in the world,” Bolosan said in an email to The Maui News. “Hawaii may be just a small island but we are swarmed with talented, hard-working individuals and it’s just amazing I have the chance to show the world what we are capable of.
“I’m blessed to be trusted to coach these amazing individuals in a healthier, stronger lifestyle and to bring out their best and let them chase their dreams and make it happen.”
