Two Ukhrul bodybuilders to represent India at Mr World Championship : 29th sep21 ~ E-Pao! Headlines – E-Pao.net

Ukhrul, September 28 2021:
Amongst four athletics selected from Manipur state, two body builders from Ukhrul Yuvraj Sonar and Yumnam Manisana would be representing India at Mr World competition 2021 to be held at Uzbekistan.

Yuvraj Sonar and Yumnam Manisana underwent intensive training in the Royal Gymnasium in Ukhrul since the last 8 months.

Master trainer Robert Laishangthem Meitei told this correspondent that the two athletes participated in National level body building competition held in Chandigarh and later qualified to represent India at the competition to be held at Uzbekistan.

Yuvraj Sonar (20) will be competing in the Junior Mr World Body Building below 75kg while Yumnam Manisana (20) qualified for contest in Sportsmen’s Physique upto 167cm category.

He expressed confident of winning medals in the championship .

Royal Gymnasium, Ukhrul under the aegis of Body Builder Association, Ukhrul District has raised a sum of Rs 1,99,600/- to cover the travelling expense of Yuvraj Sonar while a similar fund raising was done in Tengnoupal district for Yumnam Manisana as he is domicile in Tengnoupal.

Robert Laishangthem Meitei further added that the gym and the athletes have not received any assistance from the Government and urged the Government to extend support for Uzbekistan bound athletes.
