Selma native, Morgan Academy grad wins novice heavyweight title in amateur bodybuilding event – Selma Sun

The idea behind bodybuilding is to shape one’s body like it is a work of art.

Dylan Steward, a 2012 graduate of Morgan Academy, is doing just that by winning an amateur bodybuilding competition in his first try and now has hopes of becoming a professional.

On June 26, Steward, who played football, lifted weights and ran track at Morgan Academy, took part in the Clash at the Capstone, an NPC (National Physique Committee) bodybuilding event held at the Alabama Theater in downtown Tuscaloosa. And while it was his first competition, Steward took first place in True Novice Heavyweight Bodybuilding, second place in Novice Heavyweight Bodybuilding and second in Men’s Open Heavyweight Bodybuilding.
